Default Disc Changer

My stock disc changer in the back of my 2000 SS doesnt work. I load it with discs and put the magazine back in it and it completely cycles through all discs to see how many there are and when it would start to play i just get a error on my stereo screen. All of my audio equip is bone stock monsoon. Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, here is the deal. I load a cd in the magazine and put it in the changer and close the door. The changer makes some noise loading the disc while my stereo screen CD icon blinks. Then it says CD 1 on the screen but no track # and just sits there for a while till the screen finally says ERR, and switches to the radio.
Help please with this problem, i really want the changer to work.

There should have been a number after the "ERR" on the display. That number will tell us what is likely causing the error.

A couple of questions: Has it ever worked or has it always had this problem? Are you using pre-recorded CDs (particularly in slot 1) or are they ones you've burned yourself?

There is no number on the screen, just "ERR". It hasn't worked since i bought it last May, and the guy i bought it from didnt mention it. I have been using regular CD's not burned ones in all the slots.

OK, so the question comes up again - are you loading the discs correctly? The factory changer is different from most changers in that the CDs go in upside down (label side down) in the tray.
