Default think of going with Mobil 1 or Amsoil

My ls1 has 75,000 miles i been thinking of going to mobil 1 or Amsoil.
I been using 10W40 valvoline oil with Ac delco filter or a wix which ever i can find at the time. My car runs great never had any problems I just keep it up and take good care of it.
Do you think i should switch or stay with regular oil?

Use Amsoil, much better than Mobile 1.
look at the 10w-40w high performance formula (https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/amo.aspx) or the best anti-wear, which i use is 0w-30w severe service- Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil (https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/tso.aspx)

I'm an independent AMSOIL dealer. You can't beat it.

My vote is for Amsoil as well... I wouldn't be an independent dealer if I didn't trust it and put it in my own car. I currently use Amsoil XL 5w30 and change it twice a year... once before drag race season, and once after.

If you're interested or have any questions about the product, let me know... I can give a good price for LS1TECH members. Shoot me a PM with your zip code and what you'd like to order and I'll give you a quote shipped to your door.

I use Amsoil 5w30, change it twice a year, and get it analyzed each time. Always comes out good. I use it in my truck, my bike, my mom's car, my dad's car, my dad's bike and in his TT Peterbuilt rig. Very good stuff.

Amsoil is definitely better than Mobil 1. I recommend their new 5w40 European formula for a hard driven LS1 in the summer. It'll offer much better protection under high oil temps than their 5w30 or 10w30 will.

Amsoil here, great product, either 0w-30 in the florida winters and the 10w-40 the other eleven months.

I just switched from the Green GC to the Amsoil 5W40. The reason is I could only get the Gold GC here, and the new gold stuff is not the same formula as the green according to VOA. The amsoil did quite my piston slap down some.

I thought about switching to Amsoil on my last oil change but stuck with Mobil 1. I will switch to Amsoil this time around. I'm going to do an oil analysis on this oil change and do one with Amsoil when the time comes to change it.

Actually it's not. The specs on Amsoil 0w30 are 11.2 cst at 100c, which puts it at a middle 30wt. The range is 9.3 to 12.5. GC 0w30 is 12.2 cst at 100c, so it's almost a 40wt.

Are you switching from dino oil to synthetic oil @ 75K miles? Or are you already using synthetic oil and asking whether to go with Amsoil or Mobil 1?

Use Mobile 1 it is easy to find at WalMart. Amsoil is too hard to find and probably more expensive.

I for one wish there was a way to bill companies after the fact, for false advertising of non pure synthetics that are showing up. That just doens't run properly in the real world. The market here in this country is full of stuff that just doens't live up to the hype.

It's a shame, since Manufacturers keep selling them, because Poor consumers keep buying them.

Oh and I would look for a lock-out or coo on non-pure synthetics in the near future; if we're creative enough to employ a proven strategy the marketers are bound to change their habits as quickly as possible.
