Default Helicoil lifter tray bolt hole?????

Putting heads on tonight, put lifters in, then trays on top, put bolts in that hold the lifter tray. One didn't tighten up, backed it out, and sure enough, just the most perfect cork screw piece of aluminum wrapped around the bolts threads! It sure looks like a helicoil that came out. Do I just install a new helicoil in the hole for this?

Thanks

Well if it is a Heli-coil then it wasn't installed right. Make sure and use Loctite on them when installing them (Heli-coil). Those bolts aren't that critical any ways as when the bolt is is place the gaskets has a tab that goes right over it the head which will not allow the bolt to back out very easily. Easy fixer IMO you can also retap with another size bolt that you have handy.

If there are threads deeper in the hole, and you have an old oil pump handy, you can use those black bolts to hold it. They have about a 1/4" of extra thread...Put some blue loctite on it if you do it this way...

well...you have to be careful not to overtighten if you use a different bolt. The lifter tray bolt is a shouldered bolt that centers the lifter tray. It also allows you to tighten the bolt without crushing the plastic tray.
I lost one of my bolts after going SR...so U used some regular bolts that would fit and then drilled the holes in the lifter tray out to the size of a small washer. That way the bolt tightened down and centered without cruching the tray. Just FYI.

I just made a post with the same problem like this in a panic. I torqued down all 3 lifter cup bolts to 8lbs without any problems except for one it didnt want to torque. I took out the bolt and some of the threads was damaged. What size heli coil kit do i need to fix this problem? Thanks
