No this is not a daily driver. Just a weekend and maybe a 10 times a year to the track car. I wonder what cam this would compared to a 346CI cam?

Why would they run a cam with that split with heads like the 225's??

The exhaust port is very efficient.

I wouldn't think that it was efficent enough to go reverse on. To many sponsors have been having excellent results with the traditional cams, so I'd stick with that. I like the cam he picked out in the first place, but I really hate reverse split cams.

SLP's Reaserch and Development department do not think you would need a traditional split. I can believe that.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't make power, but from the graphs I've seen, revese split cams have the same low-end power of smaller cams. They don't come on until 5500 rpm's or so. Here is a graph comparing 3 cams. The 224/224, 227/224, and the 230/224. Notice the low-end power never increases over the 224/224 cam, even when you take the intake duration up to 230. If I'm going to take the time for a cam swap, I want all around power, not just top end.

Wouldn't the SLP cam give you a more broad power range because of the 114lsa vs 110lsa?

You may have a bit more of a broad power band, but you also decreased your overlap, thus reducing power. The 227/224 in that graph is on a 114 and it didn't make a diffrence. Some may disagree with me, but with the current heads that are offered for LS-X vehicles, I see no reason for a reverse split cam.
