I dont have any rasp at all with my Magnaflow and ory. I think that it sounds really good with an ory. Its not to loud or anything like that, to me its the best sounding catback that I have heard combined with a ory. Hooker sounds good as well, have you been to www.ls1sounds.com yet? If not go there, they got some really good clips of all the catbacks.

I read an article on exhaust in a Camaro magazine and they chose Magnaflow because it was supposed to flow the best for the money. Don't know if that helps.

Differences will be minimal (read: variations in dyno runs would discredit any results, it would be that close I feel), the Hooker is cheaper, has better looking tips, and it sounds more like a muscle car should. Easy decision IMO.

Speaking of the Magnaflow. They are supposed to be straight through right? Well I noticed the V6 system looks straigh through because it has an inlet on one side and 2 outlets on the other side with one outlet bending back around to the other side. I saw a picture of the V8 system and it had the traditional outlets on opposite sides so its obviously not straight through.
Can someone with a Magnaflow possibly clear this up? I have the Hooker right now and you can look inside the muffler and see both outlets but its not a straight path of exhaust flow for either outlets. The inlet flows into one big chamber and that chamber has an outlet on each side for the exhaust to exit. There is nothing that actually "directs" the exhaust to the outlets. It just gets pushed out the best I can tell.
The Hooker is quiet at idle like stock almost. I have a cam and I want it to idle louder so Im thinking of getting the Magnaflow if its louder.

Iv'e heard the Magnaflow and personally im impressed for what you get for the money. Iv'e never heard the Magnaflow at idle but iv'e heard it driving between 10-20 mph at very light throttle and its pretty loud.
Another thing people don't consider is the durability of diferent cat-backs. I don't know about other people but Iv'e seen my fair share of rusted out flowmasters. I think Lithium made a wise choice in picking the Magnaflow partly because of it's durability because of it being made of stainless steel. Also easier to clean.
