I recently installed the SJM LL/ABS delete and it went quite well. I managed to drop several #s off the nose of the heavy a$# car. I think it totalled up to about 13#s. I have not removed any wiring yet. (Yeah I'm scared..sue me).
This kit is truely a complete kit and very well laid out instructions. It did clean up the engine bay a good bit :) The customer service is second to none and Steve (SJM) is an LS1Tech sponsor. I also removed all the TCS/Cruise crap and replaced the multi-cable system with a standard non-TCS throttle cable. That was another 12#s. I gotta keep the A/C and stock interior for a while since she's still driving it to work and school. I can't wait to change the plugs now :)
I've already eaten one set of rear brake rotors. I just wish I'd done this mod a long time ago. Please learn from my mistakes.LOL.
I do have the brake, ABS Inop and Service Vehicle lights illuminated. I'd appreciate any help in getting them grounded or jumpered out. I just thought I'd share with ya'll.

i did the same kit on my car. great kit and steve was there whenever i had a question. get in touch with him, and he will tell you how to disable the lights without taking out your guage cluster.
BTW, do you have the part number for the new throttle cable?

I thought I had saved the reciept for the cable, but I can't find it any where. I just told the dealer that I wanted a throttle cable for an 01 SS with no TCS or cruise control. I'll keep looking though.

The ABS was InOp when I put the Weld Wheels on it in 2002 :) . I just made use of the opportunity to remove the unnecessary weight. We still have A/C Power steering and OD ....for now ;)
I had used up all my black tie wraps and was down to yellow and pink :)...boy I'm glad that I chose the yellow ones now.LOL.

I still see the PS and A/C in there! .......:)
12565559 is the PN for the non TCS throttle cable.

Looks good. Now get rid of the extra wiring. It can be cumbersome as it is mixes with the other wires a bit, but it will thin up the large feed wire quite a bit and reduce a bit more weight.
Removing the wires is good for those rainy days when you have nothing else to do...it can take some patients but in the end I think you'll be happy with the results.

I am doing the same on the LT1 car, I have one more line to make up and it will be time to bleed the brakes!!
I just installed mine this weekend as well. A real nice kit with great customer service. But, i got a question for you. i had a hard time deciding on where to run the power wire into the switches at. (I am referring to the selonoid power.) I decided on going through the firewall right next to the hood release line. where did you run yours at? was it easy to get to? i can't tell from your pics, but does it give a nice clean install?

I just removed the ABS unit and installed a line lock. Now I have brake, ABS Inop and Service Vehicle lights illuminated.
I am looking for any help I can get in extinguishing those lights without removing the dash/bulbs.
thanks man

Yeah, I'm hoping someone can figure out which wires to ground out to shut the lights off also. I have both TCS /cruise/ABS so some cars are different.

The configuration of the dash does not allow you to shut the lamps off via grounding as with the LT1 cars. The only easy option is to pull the bulbs.

Steve- You're no fun :)
That's wasn't the answer we were looking for, but very likely the right one. Thanks again for all the help!

Steve, I was hoping that there would be a way using the ABS unit Plug.
Thanks, Bob

We just scratched through the circutry on mine...But if you plan on reusing the cluster or putting the car back to stock you will have issues... NO lights for me though! I kep the SES light and ditched most of the other dummy lights except for low oil.
