? on high beams/low beams

Default ? on high beams/low beams

is there a way to get the low beams to stay on when the high beams are put on on a 99 z28? i though i heard of a way to get them both to stay on but not sure how.

its illegal in my state. It might be illegal in your state. But i think you have to rewire the headlights because the lowbeams and highbeams ground eachother when one is on. Probably just the relays though.

its not for me, and yes its illegal in my state, but he doesnt car. i figured you'd have to ground them together

if the headlights are set up so they are always supplied a constant +12V power and having the presence of ground switches them on, couldn't you go buy an extra relay and configure it so that when the high beam headlight sees its ground, the relay "gate" is opened?...connect one side of the gate to actual ground and the other side to the wire that normally receives a ground when the low-beams are lit...that's how I'd do it anyway. There might be problems with the car thinking the low-beams are always on (as in the fog lights may stay lit with the high-beams on) but probably nothing major.

I might try this for the hell of it and report back.

Well if a switched ground is what controls the headlight operation (as in they are hooked to a constant 12v supply), your low and high beams would both stay on 100% of the time because they would always see a ground. You would need a diode (bad choice) or relay (better choice) to only make the grounding together occur when the high-beams are supposed to be lit.
