Northwest Members - How Much is my 2001 WS6 worth? It has to go since I don't drive it any more....

Hi All.....
I decided to do something about my WS6 since i have not driven it in 2 years and no longer really have the desire to keep it. I am also not in the market for a new car so trading it in is not an option. Can someone in here guestimate how much I can get for my car..... If someone is willing to host pictures I can e-mail them as well..... Also please let me know if you know someone who is looking for a meticulously kept TA.
2001 T/A WS6 A4
Color: Red
Less than 17K Miles
Mobil 1 from day 1
Some very minor mods: (painted calipers, K&N, SLP Lid, SLP STB, Pan Hard Bar, Blazer Driving Lights, Vette FRC)
Car has never seen bad weather and has not even spend one day out of the garage so far. Over the past two years it has been started once a month and the oil has been changed every six months (mobil 1).
Needless to say she is in showroom condition and I have all the original paperwork and window sticker as well.....
I am sure there is someone out there looking for a car like this?
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Ted

That's the kind of car that Parkplace Market (?name) in Bellevue would ask 26k for. Well, since it's an A4 maybe 25k but they would not pay you more than 15k for it... :(

I was thinking around $18-$19 since I have some minor goodies that come with the car as well.... Now I need to find a buyer.... It is sooo hard to sell these things!

Last year they (Park Place LTD) was nice enough to give me $18K for my car but only as a trade in for a 2002 330CI BMW which they were asking $35K for.... 330 CI's are $41K brand new... That place is way over priced for no particular reason....

Park place appeals to the fat wallet, I've-always-wanted-one-and-now-I-can-pay-anything-to-own-it customers.
We traded in a 2002 Firehawk a few months back. 19000 miles on it. You know what I learned from that trade? Drive the shit out of your car. Don't sweat the mileage and don't worry about it being 100% perfect. Ours was a 95% car and they didn't want to give us crap for trade in value. So, knowing that you aren't going to make money on the car or limit your losses by actually using the car and racking up some miles, there is no reason not to drive it daily or at least as often as possible.
Cars are not investments for average people. They are only investments when it has virtually zero miles and its 30-40 years down the road. If you can't do that theres no reason to bother with it.

Not that I would base anything on this (ask me about my 2000 WS6 that I sold) but KBB says 17-21k (trade in - retail) so that is what people "say it is worth" but in reality, we all know from experience that a car is only worth that fine line between what the person buying it is willing to pay and what you are willing to let it go for............sorry you have/want to sell but it is just a car & there are always others. :)

I completely agree with you..... In some cases dealers don't even take the car for a ride... They just look at it and give you a "wholesale" price for it.....
In my case.... I bought this car to drive it as well as a hobby car.... But due to my intense work schedule as well as the nature of my job I find myself driving around in my sedan most of the time since it is more "practical" and can comfortably seat 4 people.....
It was just really bad timing on my side to buy this car to say the least....

So how much were you able to get for your car and how long did it take you to sell it.....? If you don't mind me asking that is//

If you can take your time when selling it, you could get maybe $23-24k for it... keep in mind that it is a niche market still for those rides. For a quick sell, I would think $19-21k would be fair.

Took me almost a year to sell her and I barely got $15.5 out of her.......and I had to squeeze hard to get that. :( BTW, I sold her in May of 2004........
Arctic White 2000 WS6 with Ebony leather int. Fully loaded except for TC and cd changer. Tinted windows, 2002 WS6 wheels, Flowmaster exhaust, Hypertech PP3, almost spotless exterior & only 31k on her. Never in a wreck, babied and never raced, dyno'd, etc.

I had it in sooooo many places I am not positive where the buyer saw it at......it was on ebay, posted on the 3 main (at the time) LS1/LS2 forums, on autotrader.com .........I do know that I didn't get ANY play out of putting in the local autotrader/newspapers. No "serious" calls from those at all.........really pissed me off.
Good luck and still sorry you have to let her go. :(
