Default Got killed by turbo civic

Well, first off my mods are 224/226 cam, 3500 stall, 3.42 gears, full exhaust and the normal suporting mods. A freind of mine just got a new turbo kit and wanted to run me. he had a greddy kit before and i kill him every time so he was wanting to run me with his set up. He's got a T3/T4 turbo running 18lbs or boost (i know its a very generic term i just dont know any more specific), i know he's got about 8 grand in his engine, and lord knows what else. So we start off from 30mph, and run it up to about 85 he had about a car and a half on me. good clean race, just have to keep modding and go get him! -Jim

is the car in your sig the one you raced? Not bad for a bone stock A4.

a stall or full exhaust would put you a car and a half in front of him easily.

was it a single cam or a dohc because my friend has a hatchback civic with the h22 (prelude engine) and he can keep up with me and he doesn't even have a turbo, he just has headers, vtec controller and good tires.

If they just put as much time in money into a car that is worth a ****, they would have some monsters. Even an STI or EVO if they don't want the domestic setup. A fast Honda is worthless-because it is still FWD. FWD is for sissy's or daily commuters. RWD or AWD is the only way to go. Hell, you don't see a Lambo with FWD do you?

you can buy a h22 engine with tranny for 2 grand and a turbo setup for 3 grand, thats 5 grand and youll be runnin 11's in a little hatchback depending on boost. pretty cheap huh.

With 8 grand in his engine you shouldn't be ashamed to loose to him. Yes, it feels bad to lose to a 4 cyl, but with nitrous you can kill him and your car will still be street drivable and just as reliable as it was before. Him... I wouldn't travel further than 100mi away from home, unless he likes to spend money on towing

Oh yeah, you win some you loose some. it dosn't bother me that i got beat by a 4 cyl, done right they can be fast as anything around. i think his is very streetable, he drives it a good amount, and goes to school in south carolina, although i'd bet he turns the boost way down for those commutes.
