I ran that exact combo for awhile. Heads where cut .005 and used the graphite gasket that is .052 thick with no problems at all. 6800 over and over!

No track time, but it made a hair over 450 (can't remember the exact #) and pulled like a freight train on the street! Mine was a 6spd, so yours should just pure nasty at the track!

I've got AS stage 2 5.3L heads. With a CC 228/230 .588/.591 112 lsa I only had .042 clearance. I flycut, only valve float or an over rev, from disaster. Most people just don't realize how close they are to nuking their engine with medium to larger cams. Sad thing is that most guys never really consider how close P/V contact is these days.

thanks guys for your help.i went to get the cam last night i bought it used with only dyno time.well i looked at the cam and it is an f14 on a 112 so i guess that will be goin in instead of the f13,but for 250 the price couldnt be beat.i think i'll still be ok as far as ptv clearence? ill call alan to make sure.as soon as i get it in ill post up my dyno times and get some track times im hoping to hit 117-120 trap speeds so say a prayer for me,thanks again

Try 120-123 trap speeds.
Also check the p/v before you start the car and be sure it is okay.
