OK put in a new trans and new converter yesterday its built 60E From CPT now Im having some real issues getting the oil level correct... so far I put half a quart into the converter before install then added 10 more quarts... went for a drive a checked it again and when I pulled the dipstick out oil come flying out all over the motor then sat in the tube for like 15mins before it finally drained back down what is causing this to happen???

I can't remember if the 4L60 has a small vent tube on the transmission housing or just a breather. Look for one and make sure it is not capped or has a plug in it. I had the same problem with one of our trucks a few days ago and the vent line was plugged. Hope this helps out.

FOund the problum!!!!!! the vent tube runs along the tourq arm so I was following the line and found that it was pinched inbetween the tail mount of the trans not allowing it to vent! so I just cut it before the mount and all is good now thanks NXZ28 for the help

No Problem. Glad you found it before it caused any major damage.
