Lining up timing dots help.....
Ok, my cam has been in my car for a year, no issues, except too little clearance, I just found out. I just took off my timing cover. The double roller timing chain has 2 dots on it, which one is to match the cam dot?
I still have the oil pump on so I can only see the inner dot, it is NOT lined up. The inner dot is lined up is on the keyway. Is the dot on the keyway the one that is supposed to line up? Or the dot on the outer sprocket? Since my heads are off too, I can tell then when the cam dot is at 6:00 piston #1 is at TDC so I think its on coreclty, but I am trying to verify.
This may solve my clearance issue, being that I have been driving for a year with .011.
If the timing is off, why does my car run so well and dyno so high?
Dyno

You did fine. the dot that's supposed to line up with the cam sprocket dot is on the very tip of the cam sprocket. the dot that you can see on the sprocket with the oil pump on is to indicate where the key thingie goes
