Racer's Lounge - How fast is a hayabusa from a roll?

I'm curious, how fast are these things from a roll?
I can take out a GSXR 750 with mods that claims 150-160mph traps in the quarter mile, I plan to turn up the boost and run a stock hayabusa from a 80mph roll.

Boosas are quick man, id say probably not but I don't know how fast you're car is. That guy who says 150-160 is FOS.

a girl down here has minimal mods on hers and routinely runs 9 flat with an occasional 8.9something thrown in. dont they ususally run mid to high 9's stock?

Busa's are fastest from a roll. You'll need a 148+mph trapping car to even think of beating one, especially if the rider is light and good.
The 05 Gsxr 1K's are faster than the Busa's, by a LONG shot. You race one of those you better be running 155+ or better.

I'm not so sure about that....
Camaro SS - Twin Turbo 408, BS3, TH400
Sounds like he might be making enough power to take one from a roll.

The busa will beat you. My brother has a 05 LE, I believe he's in the mid to low 9's now, and stock he was running high 9's with some traction issues.. He took down a TT vette 'round these parts a few weeks ago, the vette had ~800 rwhp, at least that's what the owner said.
all the liter bikes (and some 750's) will keep up with it (the busa) down low but the aerodynamics are what make the busa king. It's the fastest bike, period.

Busa's are not the fastest bikes anymore. Up until 2004 they were. The new R1, Gsxr 1K and the ZX10 are now faster than the Busa. They make more rwhp AND they are much much lighter. Power/weight ratio has made the Busa absolete in terms of being the baddest.

First I heard of it damian, not doubting it, but I remember reading an article explaining how the busa is faster not because of the HP (which is lower then the competition) but the torque and the aerodynamics (which stunt the zx-12 and k5 1000). I could be wrong. The R1 is nice but they're losing A LOT through the drivetrain as compared to the k51000 and Kawi's.

Busas are slow from a hole but are quick from a Roll ....I think you will give him some comp! Get it on tape!

I would have to bet on the Busa. Im sure you will give him a hard run but those things will fly from a roll.

Go from a 100 roll after the 80. If you don't beat him from the 80, I'd bet 100 bucks you do from the century mark :D

Can you explain this one?
Chain, sprockets, tires seem to be the same on all 3. Unless ZX10 and GSXR have significantly lighter wheels.

I think you can take it down

Most stock busas usually run 9.80s at about 138, 142, depending upon rider. Usually when people throw a pipe and a slip on them and strap them down, with experience, they'll run deep 9s @ 150+. The other liter bikes are usually hovering a few tenths behind a busa because of the tq. advantage of the extra displacement. Thing is, from an 80 or 70 roll on, aero will play a major roll.

I was up at cycle world buying gear when I started asking about the r1. They had dyno sheets (they have a dyno there) up of all the liter bikes, and the hayabusa. The R1 was losing twice as much through the drivetrain, according to them. I've never seen one first hand being dynoed, but I don't see any reason they would lie about it. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, unless they're really trying to steer people away from yamaha.

Slip on what?
Strap what?
So I should race stock Busas but not ones that are modded.

Front slip is an aero farring, front strap is to strap the bike down a bit more (holds the forks down) to get weight transfer better to launch.

Stock Busa's are MUCH faster than 138mph. Most will trap 145-148 with a good rider. You would get your ass handed to you on the top end rush with one John, from the hole you'd do a lot better.

Here's a site to help clear up all these false speculations some of you have about the almight Busa......
http://sportrider.com/bikes/146_perf_nums/
That has all the 1/4/MPH times for the past 5-6 years on all the liter bikes. If you'll notice......The ZX10, R1, and Gsxr K5 are ALL faster than the Busa.
I had a Busa and it is a bad bike, but it is not the baddest anymore.

GSXR 1K > everything.
When i saw a brand new (read... 0 miles) '05 gixxer 1k go 9.9x @ 145+ (the bikes very first pass, owner's first time on the bike) all i could think is "that aint right...."

That's why I was saying 138-142, I was implying an average rider. Yes, I have seen good riders run them 145-148 no problem and easily into the 150s and 155s.

I never said I wanted to race the fastest bike, there is a nitrous GSXR 1000 with lots of mods here that would kick the living shit out of my car.
I wanted to race a friend who recently got a new busa, thats why I ask.

I was just going off on a tangent....my comment had nothing to do with the rest of this thread.
Go beat that busa.

The new Gsxr is the fastest, but I haven't found one yet that didn't make it's way back to the dealership for repairs. They are ALL falling apart.
