Default Is my combination good or not

Hi
I have Camaro 1998 ls1 4A convertible. I installed 342 ring & pinion, SLP exhaust system, long tube headers, SLP led, K & N filter, crank pulley, TCI torque converter 3000 and super chip power tuner but with custom program inside it for all of this parts. Now I installed ls6 hot cam 219/229 lift 525/525.
What u think of my combination and what should I do to make my car better and work very good with this parts, should I put a power cooler for transmission and change the valve spring and reprogram my computer or leave it as it is.
Give me your advice

Thanks a lot

Is it any good?

Well thats very difficult to answer, basically what are wanting expecting from it? As this will have a HUGHE bearing on whether what you have done is good or not.

I'm assuming as you are asking, then you are not personally happy with it. If this is the case what do you not like about it? If its not had a proper tune then I would say its a must.

Personally here's what I would do to make a fast fun every day road car, in this order:

Stage 1:
-Full service, make sure all fluids and filters are changed (gearbox and engine), plus plugs and leads. Ensure that the car is running correctly to begin with.
-Lid (SLP/TSP or who ever), with a stock paper filter. K&N are pretty worthless, expensive and long term hassel for little or no gains.
-LT's, such as Pacesetter with a Catted Y (TSP), the loss with cats over o/r is negligable really, I means whats 10-15bhp on a 400-500bhp motor? Also this way it all remains legal.
-Cat back, lots of choice here.
-A few free mods if you must, such as TB bypass and TB bump stops. If you have ERG/Air leave them unless you really don't want them, but don't expect any gains.
-Tune, very important. It might not yeild massive numbers but it will imporve the car in every area.

Stage 2:
-Transgo Shift kit, will give you some sort of control over the gearbox. Also should make for a much more exciting drive on the road.
-3.73 rear final drive gears, this IMO should give a good mix of economy and performance.

As the are no changes to the engine there is no need for another tune.

Stage 3:
-Suspension mods, mostly BMR (I like their stuff). Braces, shocks, springs and so on
-Brakes, now you have a much faster car in a straight line and in cornering ability, it's probably worth upgrading the pads and fluid to high temp grades.

Stage 4:
-LS6 intake
-Cam and associated parts, probably not too wild. GM hotcam or TR224
-Maybe a TB
-TUNE

A 12 bolt may also be needed. However it depends what you want. For 1/4 mile use a stall may be well worth it as would a higher lift cam. 'Ram Air' mods may help a bit but will likely be a downer on cruise MPG so if that .1 of second is required go for it.

Thanks 300bhp/ton for fast respond

i want u to know that i have a lot of problems for my A4 i rebuilt it 4 times and i did the free mods, removed EGR and **** kit also.

last mechanic how checked my car he said that all the problem from the converter also its not combatable with the cam and i should remove it and leave the hot cam so that am asking about my parts, i will install ls6 manifold and BBK TB but later on, for now i need to solve my trans malfunction and what is the reason for that !

I'd replace the valve springs before you drop a valve and lunch the motor. Next would be the trans, then I'd probably go for a custom tune. Autos, cams, converters don't seem to mix very well without a good tune.

get a reliable built trans from (flp, rock on ) change the valve springs, since u might get that built trans opt for a slightly high stall on the converter and have some fun with your ride

there's no reason you can't have a stall and a cam on an auto. But it will need to be tuned and you'll need to match all the components, else you may run into problems.

Your best bet is to go to a tranny specialist and get a unit that can support the power. It may be better to buy a replacment rather than rebuild your own. This way you should get a warranty on it, so if it does fail again it shouldn't cost you anything.

Having said that, there are plenty of people with the A4 and a lot more power, so maybe your driving style is just to hard on the thing.

Another option (slightly more brutal) is sell the car and get something else or another one. It may just be you have a Firday afternoon car.

Sadly this is the risk you run with any modified car. Increasing performance and BHP will also increase the risk of things failing and breaking, this is regardless of make, model or manufacturer.

I think you need to sit down with the calculator and add up hw it will realistically cost to get the car how you want it. Then look at how much it will cost you to sell it and buy another car.
