HELP....metal shavings on oil drain plug!!

Default HELP....metal shavings on oil drain plug!!

What on earth does it mean when I have tiny metal shavings on my oil drain plug?!?!

Thanks guys...I'm very paranoid now!

bearings and such are attracted to the magnetic plug. the engine is constantely wearing so you are gonna find crap on the plug just a lot of metal or bigger chuncks thats when you start to get worried

So I shouldn't be worried until they're pretty sizeable then? They were definetly shavings and not chunks.

Nothing major then?

Has anyone else had this happen or am I the only one that's had metal shavings on the drain plug?

i think it's normal, and is why the plug has a magnet on the tip.
