I seen somewhere that Darton has a smaller up to 4.000, or middle up to 4.060 sleeve but havent heard of anyone running them? other than cost, whats up? I would like to build an aluminum 408ci stroker and this seems to be the only way to accomplish it.
Before you ask, I dont have any reservations on the iron block except for weight. The trade-off on durability of the sleeved block may change my mind but I'll have to see.

Ls-2 has a four inch bore.... I doubt you'd miss the extra .06"

Yeah, I'd like to not have the hassle of extending cam pos/crank pos sensors, as well retain the KR Sensors. But, if not that is an option. I would actually miss the .06" but cost wise I could learn to forget

Eh....Iron block isn't all that bad. I'd go that route anyway over a sleeved setup if it were just a choice and not a $$$ concern. Just my preference.

Yes, Darton does have smaller bore sleeves. These are used mainly by folks that have a displacement limit in whatever class they are running.

The larger sleeve unshrouds the valves, and or allows larger valves, and you obviously end up with more cubic inches. There isn't much sense in running the smaller bore unless you have to.

Prices are the same. The smaller bore sleeve can in fact be bored to the same size limit 4.160" as the standard MID sleeve.
