Long tailshaft!

TH400 Long Tailshaft Length = 30-5/8"
TH400 Short Tailshaft Length = 28-1/4"

Thank you. So does this mean I can use my stock driveshaft with a different yoke?

ok anyone know the length of the driveshaft.
Comparison #'s from a stock 4L60E driveshaft to what is needed would be best.

Long tailshaft!

TH400 Long Tailshaft Length = 30-5/8"
TH400 Short Tailshaft Length = 28-1/4"
Thats funny....the short tailshaft housing is 4 inches and the medium is 9 3/4 inches. Thats a 5 3/4 inch difference.
The cases are all the same length.

You better take a more accurate measurment. The overall length of the short one (4" tailhousing) is 28 3/8 inches.
The medium one (9 3/4" tail) is over 33 inches.

I didnt want to be the one to say anything happy you did lol the short shafts are all the same and the long shaft are too,,the difference is the long shafts where used in the olds ninety eights the Catalinas and some truck applications,( but most trucks used the 275) most of the big 4 door cruise boats and the short shafts where used in all the camaros, chevelles, novas ,GTO,s ect.

Not 100% true. There were 375's in the 70's, they were marked with 375 cast into the tail housing and they had a th350 size yoke. And fewer clutches.

In the late 80's they brought that configuration back only they were no longer called 375's, they were regular th400's with a long tailhousing and th350 size yoke.
I've seen 3L80HD's with the small yoke, long tailhousing.
