He was awesome in the playoffs and very important to the Astros making it to where they were last season, but if I am Drayton McLane I am glad he isn't on my payroll for the next 6 years.

I agree that for the money it would have taken to keep Beltran the Astros are better off without him and can use the money that otherwise would have been going to him on other players. An even better comparison would be to look at ***** Tavaras' numbers. He's playing center field where Carlos would have been. Tavaras is a bargain in hindsight.

beltran is a awesome 5 tool type player and we should not judge him on one year. he was a steal at last years salary....but is he worth his current contract...probably not.
