Default found a t/a in my area, got questions

i talked to a salesman on the phone. i asked if the car had been modified, so he went and looked at the car.
when he called me back he said the mechanic told him it had after market rims, exhaust, shifter and a high pressure injection kit. what is a high pressure injection kit?

this car is a clean 2000 formula trans am, 6 sp, 73000 miles, non-ws6. they are asking $12,995 for it. is this a good price.

I have no idea. Maybe he meant like a cold air intake or bigger fuel injectors. Most likely intake since he has rims, exhaust, shifter.

that depends on what kind of shape it's in. You probably should look at it first.

"high pressure injection kit"??? first thing I would think would be NOS, but I actually have no idea (I guess you'd have to see the car to know for sure). By the way, the car is either a formula OR a trans am, not both . Price seems a bit high, I'd try and talk him down to 11k. Good Luck.

Depends on what's being "injected". I guess turbo, blower, N2O would be likely.

I'd say you definitaly need to check it out for yourself before getting serious about it.....

As long as its in good shape then good for you. IMO Id get rid of that hood, the scoopes up that far really ruins the lines of the car. A stock Ram Air hood looks best I think, but hey whatever floats your boat. Good luck.

Granted I dont even have my LS1 yet haha, but Ive been around here and read enough and in general the WS6 hood looks the best and might give you 1hp or so. Its mostly for looks. Also, I think the 3'' cowl is as big as I'd go, but I have seen 4'', just do a search on it and look at some pictures and see what you like best, thats all that matters. I think there's a good 3'' hood by Suncoast. (could be wrong)

From the look of the scoops it appears to be the kind that stick on, you may be able to just peel them off (at least the plain flat hood would look better)
Looks like a pretty nice Formula you got there, good luck with it

according to the mechanic the car has 65# injectors. this is what they were calling the "high pressure injection kit".

i plan on visiting allan futral by the end of the year for a cam, lt headers, y-pipe and tune, but i don't know if i can stand the check engine light that long, lol.

It's a formula, not a T/A.

And what size tires are on the rear? They seem to be sticking out past the quarter panel a bit.

they are p275/40z17's. i'm not crazy about the rims either.
i think the offset is to much. there is a thick flange on the inside of the rims
approx. 2" thick. i'm thinking about some 5-spoke black rims.

the driving experience of this car is everything i hoped it would be and more. i drove several new cars when i was thinking of getting something new. there is now excitement in todays cars, it's all engineered out. this car is tight and you can feel and hear the mechanics of the car, which i think adds a lot to the driving experience.

i don't plan on drag racing this car a lot, but i do plan on driving it at the local road course.

If you plan on driving it at the local road course, check out the handling, braking section of the forum.
