Default considering a nx setup need experienced users opinions

I have a ls1 gto with the following mods

sw catless long tube headers
slp loudmouth cat back exhaust
k&n cold air intake system

i've yet to get it tuned but i plan on it before i run spray.

i would like to run a nx wet kit using a 150 shot. is this safe with no specific tuning for n2o given my listed mods? also does the nozzle have to be mounted straight up on the intake tube or can i mount it horizontal? anbody else with a gto running my mods do this? how much did this effect your track times??

thanks,
nitrous newb

you can mount it how you want i would run a 100 shot first with a A/F ratio gauge...then bump up to a 150

You SHOULD get some timing taken out with that big a shot. I run a 125 shot and have 5 degrees taken out in the RPM range I run the N20 in.

Think of it this way, you want to pay for parts/engine, or spend ~$600 for insurance with a tune? Don't do it dude, and don't depend on an A/F gauge to tell you whats going on unless you have a wide band A/F - it's closer but you still need timing taken out.

I would do a 100 shot till I got the feel for it. Then if you decide to go bigger, get the car dyno-tuned for it.

X is giving you good, safe advice. Move up slowly.
Most guys actually start low to check the systems operation, then move up. Rememebr to change the plugs to TR6 from the factory ones, in case no one has mentioned this. A 100 shot on stock tuning should be fine. Anyhting higher and dyno tuning is cheap insurance. Again, better safe then out the $$$$.

Good luck!
