Amp will be needed. How much are you looking to spend? One good "bang for the buck" amp would be the Volfenhag http://www.volfenhagaudio.com/amplifiers.html

120 bucks or so picks ya up a 800-1000w amp (peak) Then pick up a decent sub for a couple hundred. Alpine Type-R or S would be my pick for a budget system

These are the best replacements for the subs, but you have to cut out the metal behind the magnet, the magnets are huge!

Not sure what all you want? You will need a amp install kit (4 gge wire will be plenty) Run your RCAs on one side of the car (preferably the driverside) and the remote turn on wire/power from battery on the passenger side using the hole behind the ECM. Mount the amp where you'd like it I suppose. Just make sure it has proper ventilation. Boxes can be found at SubThump.com along with a few other places.

Has anyone actally installed these? How do they sound with the stock amp? Should they be 2 ohm or 4 ohm DVC?

That's not true. That speaker is not a direct replacement. Doesn't sound good with our stock setups. I talked to ben on them today. Look in the other post.
