Default Victor JR Pics and specs..

I don't normally double post but I thought that this might be more of use here than the external section. I don't see many carbed LS1's running around. I also feel most everyone in here have probably been through the external bolt on section several times and may not read it very often. The people in this section are also more likely in my book to cut things up

Start out with some pics shall we?

On to some specs for you technical guys

There are a total of 4 runner lengths.
Shortest (inner 4) 4 1/2 inches long
The one with the tapped bung is 6 1/2 inches and so is the one diagnal from it.
The other 2 are 6 inches

The runer height loks to be 2 5/8 inches but this is excluding the injector area. Very eyeballed. The width is 15/16 inch.

The inside of the runners are rough like a stock head casting. I probably wont port it at this time but I might at a later date.

Total height is 5 1/2 inches sitting flat to the carb flange.

Yes this is the predrilled version and it retails for aprox $320

I ordered it begining of September and was told 9/15 shipdate.. Not complaining.

Not sure exactly what the holes are for yet, but I'm sure one is MAP, maybe AIT??

I will be doing something similar to that, however, I am going to put it at a 30-45* turn towards the output of the A/A intercooler. Something close to this..

Don't ask who did the work on this one as I don't know.

there was a artical in popular hottrodding about a ls1 build up 1000+ HP and they comparied the fast intake to the intake you all are taking about and said it mabe about the same HP but the fast made more low end torque . what do you think about that?

Couple quick questions on that article?

What was the CI?
What was the motor spun to RPM wise?

That was an extrude honed GMPP intake on a low comp 402 with a HP turbo "kit" with a PT96 or something. They were not specific on anything...I thought it was a shitty article more concerned with the theories behind adding forced induction and what positive pressure does to the HP numbers and efficicency (i.e. 14.7lbs of boost = 2x the horsepower of the NA motor...etc.) than how to build a GOOD motor/turbo combo. They used Greddy wastegates (two), a kit that will never fit in anything (from what I can see), out of the box engine stuff, and a weird fuel system (single aero pump, HUGE injectors and a TON of fuel pressure).

EDIT--oh yeah, I don't think they got the motor above 6800-7000rpm...if they got it that high.

I am going by memory only.

I will have to dig that article up. I agree, it was pretty shitty, and as usual, very little actual tech. About the only thing that magazine seems to care about is spending lots of money on BLING. Sorry, not really digging the over-used g-Machine moniker.
