So, what's the problem? Am not sure what rear end is in the 98 TA; probably a 3.73 or a 4.10. Either one coupled to a 4 speed will likely chirp or even spin the tires. An LS1 is a high torque motor even bone stock. Torque is a wonderful thing.

Mine did it stock, There is one viduct that I would constently go thru that would do it, and I sounded bad ***, with the rumble of the exhaust and the screaching of the tires, My would not chirp but rather leave a damn burn out

what tires and how much tread is left will have an impact as well as road conditions.

fun isnt it?

My friends mustang gt throws up a little smoke hitting second gear. It is a bone stock 2002 A4. With maybe 225rwhp? I'd say you are perfectly normal and if it didn't do it you were abnormal.

unless I've been reading things wrong, neither of these gears are likely to be stock on an automatic LS1.

Yeah I know, that's why I said likely & not those are. The point was about the torque.

Floored mine at 40 while I was stock and it scared the crap out of me and jumped sideways, but that was with bald tires and a cold road, so thats to be expected. Can grab second with the new tires on the right type of road surface.

Mine chirps them at the shift into second at WOT, every time. Did it with brand new tires too. When my tires got worn down, and depending on the road, it would sometimes sqauk them for a second or two and leave some black marks. There was this particular ramp getting onto Route 27 at Red Bank in Chattanooga that was uphill and slick concrete. I punched it at 20mph and shifted into first. Finally hooked at the top of first, then shifted into second and spun the tires all the way to 70mph, leaving black marks about 200' and smoke going everywhere. I ended up creating a black streak where I did that so many times(about every day if nobody was in front of me)
