Hey what can you expect, you are dealing with the lowest of the low. Most of the people that are receiving the FEMA funds probably never seen 2,000 dollars at one time, so they are going on a spree.

figure it would happen, you gotta realize poor people dont have basic budgeting skills, thats why their poor. They spend their money on **** they dont need, it keeps them poor. I went to Elsik, I cant tell you how many kids were on free lunch yet wore the newest pair of Jordans and the designer clothes. Even in middle school, bus would pick up some kids froms some **** *** apartment complexs, every single kid had $100+ shoes on their feet and Tommy Hilfiger clothes on their back.

I work in an electronics store and people are buying plasma's and big screens with those ref cross cards. Their even buying jewelry, its crazy that they can get away with this. Their are people that are using the cards the way they were meant to be used, but you will always have a few people doing what wasn't meant to happen.

You know all these people that got a red cross debit card in HOuston will be the only people to get them, all the people that were sent to Dallas, San Antonio, Austin ect...... will not get $2000 for food and clothes. Its sad to think that the people that realy need the money will not get any off it and all these peps in Houston are pissing it away on bullshit!!!

Yep, I know of 2 separate occasions where women spent like $800 on a purse... I bet those women have kids, too.

We first opened our wallets and hearts to alot of the refugees, and then we hear about the ones looting, stealing buses, raping children, etc, and then that gets smoother over and we're peachy for a week or so. Now this......everyone is deserving of a second chance but c'mon if your waisting the goverments money that has been given to you to give you a kickstart in your life, you don't go out and waist it, im sorry, if you come crawling back to the gov to get another hand me out, you dont deserve it. you don't need to keep scamming the system or abusing it! (reminds me of the story in the bible a/b the master giving his 3 servant different amounts of money, 2 of them made the money grow, and the other waisted it, thus lost the trust of master and was thrown out of the house)

**not everyone coming out of that area are crooks, i've met a bunch of people in College Station that have had to start over, and they are some of the nicest people i've ever dealt with.

2000 dollars is wayyyy too much. It should have been 500 dollars and about 150 for every dependant after that. This is just stupid.

500 to rebuild a life with????? You couldn't do anything with that! Buy groceries a couple times, yeah, but what about a roof over your head, or clothes to wear for an interview so you can get a new job and start a new life? These people lost EVERYTHING. $2000 is at least enough to survive off of for a little while.... the people throwing it away should be ashamed of themselves, but they'll regret it when they're hungry and homeless.
