THere was talk about an motor like that in a Trailblazer SS, i just dont think with the gas prices and the market the way it is GM would build something like that

Jose was saying that this motor would make a good motor for boost and that it had been done overseas or something

that would be awsome to see in a car

There is a Nova wagon running the 4200 I-6 and an 80mm turbo that runs 8's. There is some video of it on 1320video.com's coverage of drag week. My understanding is that the ECM is the biggest problem to overcome on this engine; the Nova runs BigStuff3 (tuned by John Meaney himself).

wheres the intercooler
the trailblazer ss is getting the ls2
those turbos look a bit small, but that would be nice to have a 4.2 with a 60mm

Each turbo is being fed by 3 cyls.. That has alot to do with the sizing.

Yes the I6 trailblazer motor can make some great HP. Only problem with it is getting custom parts made. Nothing is offered off the shelf.

Long story short, drove it on trailer, unloaded near hotel, and drove to hotel to make it seem like he drove the entire trip.

is there anyone looking to mod these motors and make them a quasi supra killer? seems like it could really be fun.

I wondering about GM and I6's the other day. It'd be great if this engine got popular.

Cunningham's 4.2 (cheater from drag week) is supposedly only darton sleeved, with aftermarket rods and pistons with a large frame GT47-80mm turbo. Thats only rumor so I don't take it for gospel myself.

I know this is an older post, but consider the rumors confirmed. I'm working with the same shop that built his longblock & injection. These motors will absolutely spank a Supra 2JZ; but 12 more years of development will do that for ya.

I'd like to know how strong the block is, as cast. Its definitely different to be making all that power with an 6, and the I-6 design lends itself to good durability anyway. Not to mention, silky smooth power delivery.
