500 hp is simple, use the aluminum block to save 100 lbs. Most guys don't use the iron block unless they are looking at around a 1000 hp zone. But, a few aluminum blocks have seen those power levels too.

Basically, some forged pistons, good rods, ARP head studs and rod bolts, and that blower should get you a reliable 500 crank hp. Or, just slap on a set of ported heads and an aftermarket camshaft on the stock bottom end and you will see 500 crank hp the easy way.

Ya for 500 hp there is no need for forged internals. As long as the tune is good ya dont have to worry aobut it breakin too much. GL

Thanks guys I was also wondering if the stock heads would be good with the blower and The fast 90/90 setup? If not What would you recommend? Oh I also noticed you said Crank HP I'm looking for RWHP .

500 rwhp is simple. Just slap that blower on basically a stock engine with some good valvesprings and aftermarket camshaft, and dyno tune it for around 8 psi.

Fast 90/90 isn't really needed for a stock cube forced induction engine. LS6 intake is fine for now. Stock heads will still get you to 500 rwhp with a cam/headers/blower

I see 440 to 450 rwhp with an ATI ProCharger at 8 psi on my Mustang Chassis Dyno, with headers and a cat back being used. Add a good blower camshaft to this mix and you'll be close to the 500 rwhp mark. You would be over 500 rwhp if you're on a non eddy current DynoJet chassis dyno. Bob

if you have the funds and the motor is out of the car already go ahead and rebuild it with forged internals. I run Callies Rods with Diamond pistons, get new bearings, rehone with torque plate, gaskets etc and arp head studs and rod bolts, you should be pretty rock solid with that setup.

I'll guarandamtee you that you will get boost greedy. trust me on this.

that cam would be perfect if your lsa was higher, it will work but just not be as efficient as lets say a 115 lsa. plus that cam may make your power peak earlier than you'll like, centrifugals make power till they explode.

my car makes power till 6800, just wants more n more.

Look in my sig. I am a stock ls1 with the upgrades below. It runs strong, and I am also on a conservitive tune. I am running rich. I will get it tuned right when the 6.0 iron block goes in.

Stock LS6 intake and ported stock TB has made anywhere from 850-1000rwhp on forced induction setups. I would spend the money on the heads first. Some ported 6.0 babies....

I'm making 500 flywheel hp all motor with 91 octane... of course a forced induction dyno chart will have more torque and power under the curve vs. my peaky result.
