6.0 block for FI applications

Do a search, I'll get you started.
-Crank: Stock crank has been run well up and into the 1000rwhp range. I would personally change it if I were planning on pushing over 850rwhp.
-Pistons: Forged pistons- and get them coated if you have the money
-Rods: You don't have to do forged rods if you are on a budget but a decent set only runs around $600 and will be good to at least 800rwhp in that price range. You could probably get away with just upgrading the rod bolts and keeping the factory rods if you were going to stay at 6000rpm and 550rwhp or so. Think ahead cause you'll be screwed when you want more power and have to take your engine apart over rods.
-Bearings: All new. Have these coated as well.
-Lifters- stock.
-Timing Chain: You can keep the stock timing chain but it is only $120-180 so why not.
-Oil Pump: You can keep the stock oil pump if it is 2001/2002 but I would very much recommend replacing it with a ported LS6 oil pump or port and shim your stock pump. This runs $100-$150 so why risk blowing your engine?
Not really internal but:
-Pushrods- you can keep stock but they're only $100-$130 so why not.
-Valvesprings- yes, 918's or better.
-Head gaskets- GM MLS or better.

What I had in mind was 6.0 with stock internals, and ls6 ported heads to lower compression, and up boost, and a decent blower cam or ls6 cam still undecided there, and 10lbs of intercooled boost.
I was planning turbo but the vortech has caught my eye, so if a super then I will be running long tubes and true duals

i can most definetly be pulled off with the aluminum motor. i am having the same brain war with myself right now. i have gone ahead and bought the iron block though just for piece of mind. i will be using my ls1 crank though for a total of 370CI. and twin T04's.

It can be done, check out epp and check the trans am they did with the front mount intercooler. It made the #'s you are looking for using a blower. If you plan on going over 700hp I would probably go with the 6.0.
