Default Z06 Valves: 02-04

I just read an interesting thread elsewhere by a respected Corvette tech who stated that GM had released information that they were getting rid of the hollow core lightweight Z06 valves and replacing with stainless steel due to bad valve train harmonics.

I also read elsewhere that a new set of Z06 heads (LS6) were coming from GM without the lightweight valves, which somewhat confirms this. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I'd like to see a reliable reference for that statement. "some forum thread" is not relibale enough for me.

None the less, this would be interesting as I planed on putting some light-weight Z06 valves in my new heads...

I would need to find it, but it was on the Corvettemechanic forum and written by "C4C5Specialist" who does the talks at Carlisle.

How about some better coated intake valves to resist heat and give us a few extra ponies that way.

GM High Performance stated that the new Ls7 valves are titanium. Dito for the connecting rods...

...Sort of like the Porsche stuff that has been out there for many years

The new LS2 "243" castings have normal non-lightweight valves in them. They may have discontinued them.
