Default Help...Ported and shimmed ls6 oil pump!

I found an ls6 ported, polished, and shimmed .100 . Im putting in a f13 cam, intake, ls2 timming chain etc. stock bottom end. WIll this pump be ok for my application or will it being shimmed harm my motor or cause leaks? Or should i just keep looking for one that is not shimmed?

shimming is just going to increase oil pressure. Basically the more oil pressure the better.

My 2 cents: shimming isn't necessary but won't really hurt you either. I just ported my own LS6 pump and put it in (really pretty minor porting), with no shimming. Runs 40 psi hot idle and 50-55 crusing down the road. Has 65 psi when I stand on it. I don't see needing more than 65 psi.
