Default TunerCat or HpTuners?

I dont know much about either, just wondering which is better. I have TunerCat for my 1995 Formula. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I dont know if this is gonna make a differance or not but I have a T-rex cam.

If you are already used to TC, then you might not find it so difficult to use on your LS1. I think the TC interface and organization are its biggest weaknesses. HPT is much easier to use, has a good help file, and has a decent scanner built in. Having used both, I would recommend HPT.

From what I've been able to gather from the TunerCat
BBS site, the "coverage" is not as high as HPTuners
(or EFILive) and the scanner seems to be an unreleased
work-in-progress. I see very infrequent posts there,
even less frequent than my infrequent visiting.

I have had mail from TC that some years' calibrations
(or whatever they call it) are available but their web
site is also woefully out-of-date in this regard, last I
checked.

I think if you want it now, and aren't concerned with
license fees / multiple models particularly, and want
the maximum access to PCM "*****", HPTuners is a
much better choice for getting the job done. If you
already had a scan tool paid for, and happened to
want a calibration that TC has released, maybe the
equation changes (though you might prefer to take
advantage of a HPT trade-in deal instead, if those are
still being offered...).

I was about to post on this very topic but did a "search" first. It sounds like VapourWare for now then.

They really really do need to set up the program better, It is very hard to get around. And if you open too many tables at once, it normally takes a crap on you and you have to start all over. I havent used the new obd2 stuff lately. Maybe it got better.

That's just it. I would have assumed that most hobbiests were in the boat I am, I need a scanner/tuning package. A tuning package without a scanner is worthless to me.
