Default Gains from FAST on cam only car?

I was curious what people have gained from the LSX intake on a cam and bolt-one car. Stock heads...I'm trying to decide if I want to sell my LS6 and get one soon or wait for a while. I tried a search but I found too many random threads and it's a little late for me to keep trying.

i picked up 3 mph in the quarter.............. but i don't have a cam only car. point being... the fast intake is awesome and you should probably get it if your cam is BIG. if it's a more sedate cam then stick w/ the ls-6 intake.

Currently I'm running the 231/237. I just don't know if I want to bother upgrading before I build and boost my engine.

If you plan to go BIGGER & BETTER then you might as well buy the intake now..

I just bought a FAST 90mm Intake and Nick Williams 90mm T/B to go along with my stock heads, TSP 233/239 R2 cam, and all of the bolt-ons.. I'm hoping for somewhere around 385rwhp with my stalled A4.. If it doesn't help alot at least I've already got the intake for later on when I throw some heads on it and build a bigger shortblock.

Thanks, Joe.That's quite a gain. I see that's with the 90mm. I'm curious what the gains will be with the 78mm.

$800 for 14 hp? Man, that's steep. You'll hardly notice it with an A4.

If you're not going to install it yourself ($$), and as long as you're putting on an LSX, you might as well port match it, that'll add another few hundred bucks. Add it all up, and you're at the cost of one of the reasonable LS6 head packages (but not AFR 205's and deluxe valvetrain parts), which would give you a heck of a lot more than 14 hp.

This might be short-term thinking if you're going to get it all eventually anyway... There's a lot of ways to skin a cat, it's just nice to get the big hp gains sooner, though...

Don't waste your money on the 78mm one. I had one when they first came out and sold it about 3 weeks later. It didn't do much, 2-5hp. Couldn't tell on the dyno.

Thx. I have no problem spending the money. I only have to pay for utilities so the rest of the moeny can go to the car. I suppose 90mm will be best for boost in the long run.
