Question how to delay a shot on an M6 till 3rd

i would like to find out a way to delay the nitrous till i get to 3rd gear if possible without an expensive delay box i am not sure i have heard something about a bmn window switch that has a 1st gear lock out but i want one with a 2nd lock out to so i dont spray till i hit 3rd (dont want to shell the stock rear end) so do you guys have anything that might help me with this i will be instaling a 100 shot (wet) so i dont want it sprayin in 1st or 2nd untill i get a good rear end to hold it, Any input greatly apreciated thanks in advance

ur not going to "shell shock" the rear end unless u run a big shot +slicks...big shot like 200+. u'll be fine on street tires (DRs)and 100-150 hittin it in 2nd, I do.

u can always mount a micro switch on ur shifter so when u throw it in 3rd it turns on...u'd need one for 4th too.

Or, use a digi timer and set it for the time to get to 3rd.

I have a Jacobs N20 Mastermind and love it. It doesn't have different settings for each gear but it does allow you to bring the N2O in slowly. It works by fluttering the solenoids, so it's kind of hard on noids, but its worth it IMO.

If that's not an option, a WOT switch or other micro-switch inside the console would probably work. Like Screamin_Z said, you'll need one for 4th gear too.

I spray my 150shot in first gear and through 4th with no problems...stock rear on nittos. like screamin Z allready said, you'll only grenade the stock rear if you go all out with full slicks.

you can use the reverse of what someone allready said...use the micro switches to turn the nitrous off in 1st and 2nd gears..but you should use it in all your gears...by the time you get to 3rd gear your race will be half over. ;D

Here's the 1st gear lock out I use (for my 2nd stg and wired diff than discribed), you can just wire it in opposite of your wot micro sw, on same line. You need to get a three prong micro sw from Radio Hack (push in off, rather than push in on).

The first gear lock out should be all you need.

your going with a 100 shot so why not get a timming tuner so you can retard your timming and put a timed delay when the NOS hits. You shouldn't spray without retarding your timming

Only need to retard timing if you get detonation, I run 26* on the spray with no issues.

If all you want to do is moly spray it in third on then the cheapest way is to get a WOT switch and then put the activation switch in the ashtray like mine and when you shift to third flip the switch. Thats what I do.

The only problem flipping a switch, if serious about drag racing, is the consitantcy issue. You'll be hard pressed to run back to back same times, but if just goofing around at the track/street, it will/can work.
