Default Horrible Day At Bremerton Today

Well for me at least.

Rick ran a new best of 12.84, so the track was in pretty good shape. They did end up preping the track due to some of the Pro Cars there.

As for me tho, it was horrible. I was running semi stock times, it was pretty pathetic for me. I was kinda embarrassed pulling the time I was pulling, especially since there was a shitload of ricers there in the 13s. So the best time I mustard was a 12.83 @ 108 and worst 13.26 @ 105. There seems to be something wrong w/ the shifting points on the car. I let off twice on the 12.83 b/c it would never shift. It was funny one time b/c I ran an El Camino SS, and so he passes me half way down the track b/c I let off due to no 1-2 shift again, (either that or it put me in 3rd and I was running from 42 up in 3rd) and once the tranny caught I ended up passing him. I called Ellis right after I left from the track, and let him know what happen. It looks like we're gonna put the MTI tune back in and leave the tranny settings alone this time.

All I know is what a waste of a evening, tonight was. I drove an hr and 45min, switched tires off and on at the track, ended up getting oil thrown on me b/c of the jack, and ran like ****.

EDITED: I've been doing some research and it might be that the shift pressure is too high.

Sorry to hear that man....

Like You i have no 1-2 shift BUT here is the kicker.

ALL MOTOR: 1.56 60 ft on a mild launch...Given there was no 1-2 shift. BUT 1.56 60 ft is the best 60 i have ever got n2o or n/a. So i am proud to say that if I EVER get that problem fixed it is an 11 second all motor vehicle.

More to come later

I thought they sprayed water, but others said no, VHT. Ha, I slip and slid on all 6-passes. The best I got was a 1.801 60' 11.574 @ 122.49, with 1st stage only. Now if I could have pulled a 1.550 (I have better), a 11.074 could have been, maybe and if 2nd stage was on it was a 10.xx for sure. Speculation I know, but you gota have goals. Crappy track prep for sure, at least for the higher HP cars. Had fun though as usuall and good people.
Sorry you had problems Rey. It can be dishearting. Maybe Sunday or next Friday?

To add to the list of crap, this is the first time out since I put in the McLeod SFI bellhousing...I noticed during the install that the new one set the tranny back prolly 1/16" ish farther back than the stock one...therefore the slave cylinder is farther away from the clutch...I noticed the pedal was kinda low, but it still shifts fine around down, and I can really wind it out and shift hard on the street cause it just blows the tires off in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. So, found out tonight that it doesn't disengage far enough at high rpm's to shift hard. So long story short, tried shifting hard, missed some gears a few times, tried one pass super granny shifting and managed a 11.86. Oh well, time to put the McLeod master in. There's my story for the night. Have a good one y'all,

Brian

I put bigger injectors in my stock '87 and ran an unbelievable 1.49 60 ft?!? resulting in a 12.71 at 105. I backed it up with a 12.78. The mph are actually a bit down but the bottom end is... impressive. It's run those times before but not with a 60 ft like that. That was a better 60 ft. than my white car.

Yeah, lol, I'm stumped. I don't think the tranny is going out, it drives fine on the street, but man on the track not so well.

I've been talking to some of the Vette guys, and they think that it might be the shift pressure. But we'll see, I know you've got that class tomorrow, but maybe sunday we can work on it and get it squared away. This is really distressing. It's like we talked about, when everything's good w/ our cars, we're on top of the world, but when there's something wrong, man the day just seems like ****.

What about that that 1.309 60'er, I saw the slip. That's one launching machine.

We will see. I have a feeling it is just more power then that poor trans can take I never touched the Pressure tables but we can put every thing but the Timing and fuel back to what you had before knocking 20% of the power off during the shift should keep it going
