Default Is this a good deal on an ss??

I have been looking for a ss for a while now. I have been looking for a lower milage car, but I have found a highmilage car for cheap. I need to know if this is a good deal. Its a 98 ss 6speed with T-tops, cloth and all power options. It is in good shape. the car body has 160000 miles on it, he put a motor with 80k miles in it. Mods to the car are tsp cam, patriot stage II heads, slp LT headers an off-road Y-pipe, lid, shifter, built 6speed trans, spec stage II clutch, and, BMR torque arm. I can get the car for 8,000, and its local. Is this a good deal or should I worry about the high milage. If I decide to resale the car down the road will I have trouble selling it with the high milage? thanks

With all those mods hes probably run the car pretty hard, but 8k for an ls1 is a pretty good price, take a look at it, see if its been beat half to death (have a good mech check it out) the lack of cats could be a problem depending on your location.
As for resale, you'd probably have some problems with the hi miles, it'll be worth less than a lower mileage car

what year is the 80k shortblock from? i'd treat this deal like purchasing any other modded vehicle, regardless of the mileage. you wouldnt want to inherit someone else's problems.

if your looking to unload the car down the road shortly i'd pass up on this deal. however if you plan on keeping the car for a long time and are interested in a street/strip car its a pretty good deal considering the mods done.

like JRP said, if youre gonna keep it a long time go for it. if theres a possibility of you selling it soon, dont buy it. definitely look it over with a fine tooth comb.
