Does the CAGS skip shift slp harness work?

Does the CAGS skip shift slp harness work? I am thinking about buying the CAGS slp harness that allows you to shift into 2nd gear on the LS1's M6. Does anybody know if this really works????????
Also when you deactivate it does the skip shift light still come on or not???

I did the resistor mod and it worked great, very easy to do. I picked it up at radioshack, do a search and youll find somewhere were its explained in detail. Oh and the light still comes on.

I will be doing the $1 mod soon. I don't see any reason to spend $30 to do the same thing. I'm not concerned about the underside of my car looking neat.
