Florida Members - Moving to Orlando

Well in 6 weeks I will be moving to orlando. I just want to know where the best hang out's are. where the closest tracks and best tracks are to orlando. and the closest ls1 shops for when I break somthing. my car wont be down for a few weeks after I get down there. looking forward to seeing what Florida has to offer :)

Fuel Slut. Period. Best people down here although alot of people may say different, come down get in with them and you'll love it. Next Level Performance is one of the top fbody shops in the country and is probably less than 20 minutes from where you live. Now for the bad, Orlando Speedworld is the drag strip down here nick named Orlando Spinworld and for good reason, They don't really take time to prep for test n tune nights so unless you're running at an event you wont really hook like you should.

Welcome to Orlando. Allright soon there will be 2 turbo cars to wip up on. :drive: As far as SpinWorld goes all you have to do is ask Randy(track owner) to prep lanes 1 &2 and the track hooks just fine, sometimes. :)

hell yeah. I dont know what it will run. not sure on the boost. my goal was 800rwhp. and it will have all the supporting mods to make that happen. so maybe you might be on the other end of the whipping. hehe.

He can also head to Bradenton even though its in Tampa, Lakeland has an 1/8th and if he wants to go to Moroso if he happens to be in the West Palm Beach area. I'll be down in the area the first week of December :)

Winter is actually the hight of our dragracing season. Orlando has the World Street Nats in 3 weeks(fastest door slammers in the country). We also have the NoBull Nats on every Funday Sunday at OSW(Orlando Speedworld) theres one this weekend, these are streetable racecars from all over FL 20 - 30 of them running mid 8sec, to 9sec and 10sec streetcars. Also Bradenton has the Snowbird Nats in Nov and US Street Nats in Jan( the same cars that will run at the World Street Nats in Oct). Of coarse the Gatornationals in March. From Orlando you can race at Bradenton, Gainsville, Orlando Speedworld, or Lakeland dragstrip year round all within 1 1/2 hours driving distance.

I got moved in this weekend. I'm back home in AL for a couple days but I'll be back Thursday. I've really enjoyed myself so far.

Thats funny a coworker of mine quite his job a couple months back to move to Birmingham. Anyway it didn`t work out so he just got his job back last week and moved everything back from AL this weekend also.

Not really this weekend but next weekend is the World Street Nats at Speedworld Qualifing on Fri+ Sat until late night and the race on Sun. Next Thurs at Race Rock on I Drive they have a big cruise in for all the racecars(I get to drive my red 98 Formula in it for the first time :gruffy: :gruffy: ) it starts at about 6pm. Its awsome seeing 1000hp and 2000hp cars doing burnouts on a public street at the end of the event. :)

Once Jeff gets his launch worked out that car will run 10's.

well I came down this past weekend. didnt have internet access. but I found an apt on lake underhill rd. which is really close to work for me. good news is I will be moving down Nov. 11. but my car still wont be ready proly till the first of the year. paint guy wants more time with the car. and well the turbo kit still isnt even started on it yet. o well hope to see ya guys down there.

I talked to jeff at next level and he is gonna get a price for me on them doing a turbo kit. just want to do it locally. so if you see an arrival blue t/a with a mecham wing, and 4inch vfn ram air hood. then that is me. run me down and we will hang out. I got to have someone show me where the fun is.

it won't take you long to figure out the hot spots here. If you want action it'll come to you.

make sure you do suspension too, all that power is useless if you can't hook it up.

Wow , whats wrong with the above mentioned car? I ran a 11.75 on motor. Or is this an inside joke?

yeah but what tranny is he runnin. an A4 is a hell of a lot easier to launch and race than an M6.
