I just installed the Magnaflow exhaust and am very happy with it. I would like to gain a little low end torque after the install.

I would like to spend around $1100. What do you guys recommend?

LT's and an ORY, Intake Manifold w/ported TB?

Will LT's make me loose low-end TQ due to the decreased backpressure?

Any suggestions would be great.

it feels like you lose a little low end with the lts but it definatly makes up for it in sound and performance

What can I add that will add some additional torque down low?

i got 4:10 gears installed in my car, and it helped the low end alot.

gears

Gears would really give you low end, but I don't think that is what he wants. Don't get me wrong, but 4.10's aren't really condusive for great gas milage/daily driver...correct....maybe 3.73's?? For $1100, you could get a great set of long-tubes and maybe an H-pipe instead of a Y-pipe to make up some torque, because the increased flow of the exhaust will lower your torque to HP ratio a bit. Have you looked into that FAST LSX intake/90mm TB? If you find a great deal, you may have enough money left over for a handheld tuner. I noticed a big difference with my Hypertech installed, although I understand there are better ones out there then it...(at least that's what people say!)

get it tuned!! if you haven't already...different tuning and fuel and air can result in different tq and hp results...obviously...look at my signature...and my website..my dyno is under project car....(the site is gettin updated soon..with the latest dyno

Can't do gears. I want to keep the gas mileage and keep the same ratios around. She has been tuned and I need to keep the Y pipe setup as I just invested in the Magnaflow.

Will headers add torque as low as idle in the RPM range? Or are they for high-end pulling?

where do you drive? with 4.10s you loose maybe a mpg or two on the high way, but you'll gain around town, plus leaving froma start and getting up to speed almost elimantes the lose from highway.

oh yeah...a custom roots blower will give you lots of low end torque..but wil cost a decent amount of cash..and i don't even know if its possible.

Anything is possible with enough money :judge:

hehehe, yes no roots blower is happening for 1100. No standard blower is happening for 1100 either.

I've been reading this post and became very inturested because I have just bought a magna flow and I'm waiting to put it on, but the leaf blower joke was in deed a good one!!

Yeah, no blower yet. Nicely done though :-)

Does a ported TB and LS6 intake help any?

Hypertech just raises timing. Almost did my engine in for good. Never use it, that's my advice. Get a real tune or leave the computer alone. HP Tuners and LS1 edit are probably the only 2 programs you want messing with your PCM (with the right people doing the mods).

I agree on the Hypertech, I have a diablo but I use custom tuning by RWTD. When I was stock I had over 4 KR, but now we have it completely tuned out (with apropriate changed to the LTRIMS).

The computer tune helps, but I am looking for something that makes a noticible difference down low.

Anyone have any ideas for a gain down low? I'm sure someone must know...

Gears dont make power down low, it just lets you get to the power band faster, per say. Some cams are great for low end torque, but most people will go for a mid range or up cam because you dont want a cam making max power at 2000 rpm and dying when you get to 6500.

You can get something like a blower and that will keep torque all around, but no way thats coming in around your price range. Do the simple mods for sure, headers, full exhaust, intake. Then if you want it to be a low torque beast, call a cam company and talk to them about your needs until they can suggest a grind that will make power right where you want it.

How about some 3.73's. With your M6 It wont hurt your MPG much at all, being 5th & 6th are Overdrive. That would get you off the line Quicker. And you would have Money left over for LT headers.

Just get some LT's. You *may* lose a bit right off idle but it more than makes up for it in the midrange on up. LTs gain a lot of midrange tq.

Is this true? Adding some 4.10's will help gas mileage in city driving? I have NEVER heard of bigger gears helping gas mileage, only the COMPLETE opposite! Correct me if I am wrong.

They don't increase torque at the motor but they do increase the torque that your wheels see. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that lower gears increase torque at the drive wheels in addition to getting you in the powerband faster.
