Default G5X2, 5.3 ported heads, and flycutting pistons???

ok, i have a 2002 T/A with a G5X2 cam, and bought a set of 5.3 heads and am getting them ported and putting 2.02/1.57 valves in them. they are not being milled, just cleaned up, probably 2 thousands or so. my question is, is anyone running this setup on stock pistons, or do i stand a good chance of having to flycut the pistons? i know i can probably just go with a thicker head gasket, but don't wanna lose compression or quench from what i understand. any help, ideas, or advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
David

The G5X2 clears stock heads, so if the miling is the same as stock than you do not need to flycut.

BTW, this belongs in the internal section and has been answered a tremendous amount of times.

i looked, and did a search and found a bunch of things, but no one ever answered if they actually were able to run the heads and cam on uncut pistons, so i was trying to see if anyone may have done it since it was last asked and would answer, cause if i can do it, i will deifinitely post and tell it worked or didn't, so people like me wont have to make continuous posts. sorry if i am re asking, i am just trying to see if anyone has run this combo with these size valves.

I think reguardless of what people here tell you, you should have it checked to make sure it isn't closer then you want. I had my pistons cut, but I had my heads milled a good bit.

112 or 114?
If you do not want flycuting, you could play with the retard +2 or 0 to make it fit. Just a thought too.

It will fit on the X2 only. We did a couple of tests, and if you mill 10 thou with stock valves, its fine. No mill and big valves is fine as well. The Milled heads with BIG valves has clearance issues.

Let me know if I can help
