Default 4L60E question...can i put a '05 trans into a '96 blazer?

i have a bad transmission in my '96 blazer, a 4L60E, and i can get one out of a 2005 chevy (seller doesn't specify make and model)...simply put, will it work without major alterations?

Is your blazer a 4x4 is the 05 chevy a 4x4? Because if one does have a transfer case, then the internals of the transmission are different. If they both are 2wd then u should be fine, if they both are 4wd then you should be fine too. But if ones a 2wd and ones a 4wd, its not worth it.
