amp problem.
Hey fellas, I've got a kicker 300.2 amp that was working fine up until today... I noticed there are two lights on the amp, one says power & the other protection... Well when I left work today i noticed that my sub wasn't working... Naturally I popped the hatch & made sure all connections where tight... I did notice that the protection light on the amp was on & you can hear an intermintant pulse/beat come through the sub.. I'm baffled, so i called a local stereo shop & explained to them my situation, but they said to just come in & have them look at it... I thought I'd hit you guys up first to see if maybe anyone knows the problem before I go there & have to spend money.. Thanks in advance!

Oh course any place you call is going to want to look at it. It's $$$ for them.
Alright. Protection mode can come on for a couple of reasons. With what you have there, I would check the GND on the vehicle mounting point. If it's loose/Broke, it will not work properly at all.
Here is the manual for the AMP.

Protection light could also be a shorted sub, too low of a voltage or to high of a voltage. If the ground is bad it could have pulled ground through the rcas and damaged the deck this could be why it is making the noise now. check your rca's and make sure they have ground on the outer part of them.
