Default centerforce dual friction weights*****updated must click*****

I was told a by a friend that the center force dual friction clutches have a problem with the weights that spin out to make the clutch engaged get stuck in the engaging position because they get clogged with the clutch dust is this true? He told me if I drop the tranny and cut the wire that hold the weights in and take the plate out be hind the weights it would fix this problem has anyone else herd this before?

01red28,

Give me a call (800) 932-5882, I would like to hear a little more of what is going on before you pull the tranny.

Thank you,

I left a massage at that number a few hours ago,
Its been installed for close to 15k miles or so and has been giving me problems for about a month now I just hope I have not damaged the tranny the car is basically stock no NOS or even drag radials have been used

( and I dont know if it helps or not but there is no vibration)

I talked to Will he gave me a RMA #
I sent the whole thing pressure plate master everything to center force clutches he going to balance it for free and look at the clutch and such

I still don’t know what its is yet but soon as he gets back with me I will let everyone know
When I took the clutch and looked at the pressure plate it had some small gouges or what you would call groves in it
So far I am amazed at the customer Service

I have had very good service from centerforce.
I have 2 cars with D/F clutch set ups and love them both,99 ls1 and an early vette.
They are also good at calling you back whenever you may have a question.

Everyone needs to know that I received my clutch back today to my surprise when I opened the box
There was a brand new clutch in side!!!!!! My fly wheel was resurfaced and was all done for free and sent back to me for free!!!!! As of why the clutch failed was really my fault lets just say
I did not have the correct surface on the flywheel I will never buy any other brand of clutch again and nor should anyone
Else after reading this
I'm a cutomer for LIFE
Thank you vary much Will Baty!!!!!!!!

good to hear!! I decided to go with centerforce after seeing how determined will baty was to make his customers happy. And i encourage anyone...especially people who dont have the money to just buy another clutch if theirs goes out to go with centerforce!! BTW...i have almost 1000 miles on my centerforce dual friction and i LOVE it!! it holds strong and still has a stock feel!

Well there’s something else I have to add to this tread as well, Will left a message on my phone explaining what was done and told me that HE HAD DONE THE DRILL MOD TO MY MASTER CYLINDER AS WELL!!!! I just sent it to see if that could be causing the problem. Will told me that he recommended I do this and he would explain as of how to do it but I never expected center force to do it for me big thumbs up for center force
It’s Nice to know that someone will be there if you need help with something and have such an unheard of warranty program!!!!!

Can you elaborate on that? How did you put an incorrect surface on the flywheel? How was it keeping the clutch from disengaging?

In other words, what did you do wrong that others should learn from?

Basically I had a badly warped fly wheel before I put the new center force clutch in and was causing disengagement problems and it caused uneven wear of the friction wheel and so forth make sure you have your fly wheel resurfaced and balanced to the new clutch!
So you don’t have the same problem I had

I couldn’t be happier I went ahead and got all new hydraulics just to be safe
MAJOR CHANGE FROM WHAT IT WAS it was hell pushing that clutch in before now it’s like stock and goes into gear perfectly! Only got 300 miles on it so far for the brake-in period, witch bring up a question why do I need to put 450 to 500 before I put full power to it anyway? Just curious
