It doesnt matter if you get it from a T/A or a Camaro all LS6 intake will fit on your 98 but make sure the intake is off a f-body 01 or newer. No you do not need any special hardware.

You might want to replace the knock-sensors while you are at it.When I replaced my manifold I replaced those and the wiring harness for the knock sensors as well. And you might want to have a spare oil pressure sensor just in case you break your old one.

Default LS6 intake?

I am recently new to the LS1 side, use to be a LT1 owner recently converted.

I am trying to get some information about the LS6 intake. Is the LS6 and the LS2 intake the same thing? What will work on my 99 SS LS1?

I am going to be porting my stock TB as well.

First serch...lots of good info about this out there.

Long story short dont go with the LS2, go with the LS6 manifold.

There is also a write up on the swap on www.LS1HowTo.com

Good luck
