Where does the cam peak? See what it does on they dyno, and set the rev limiter accordingly. Or just set the rev limiter higher, and take it to the track and see what changing your shift rpms does to your times.

but can the bottom end take a 6900 rev limiter. I rarly hit it, I have a two step for launching, and shift good, so unless a major **** up happends, I should not hit thew limiter but It will be comeing rite up to the 6900 mark? how bad is this on stock bottm?

We have done extensive testing and we recommend 6400rpm for stock valves and 6800rpm for hollow-stem intake, sodium filled exhaust valves.

My rev limiter is at 6900, stock bottom end. Mine's an 01 though, supposedly better rod bolts. That's where your main concern is IMO. Severaly people take their stock bottom ends to 7200 with the T-rex, so it can be done. It's just risky.

Thats what we would set the rev limiter to using one of our torquer cams. Every cam is different, but I just don't forsee you making enough power at that high rpm to risk damaging a valve. We just had a 01 LS1 Camaro with Katech heads and a 228/226 cam on the dyno yesterday and it made peak power at 6200rpm.

forget cam size. How much RPM can the bottom end of this motor handle?

With upgraded ARP or Katech rod bolts? 7000-7200 RPM. The stock rods are actually pretty good, and that's what you have to worry about in the bottom end at that RPM. I wouldn't go over 7000, though, unless you have a T-Rex.

Look at your dyno graph. The X1 should peak around ~6400 RPM. I would think that it carries to 6700~6800. I'd set the limiter at 6900 if that were the case and shift at 6700.

if it was my daily driver, as it is his, i wouldn't spin it over 6,500. better safe than sorry, especially when you depend on this vehicle.
