I went to New York International raceway last Friday night and got in 8 runs. Best run of the night was 13.4 @ 105 with a 2.2 60' time. My car is a 99 Formula with 3.23's, Lid, Dynomouth and SSRA. The temperature was great as we had mid 50's that ended up in upper 40's by the end of the night.

Now I used to run at Rt. 66 Speedway in Joliet, IL before I moved to NY and best there was 13.1 @ 106 on a 2.0 60' time. Rt 66 DA is around 750 and NYIR is about 950 so DA did go up but by very little. Biggest difference was at RT 66 I could floor it under a straight idle and get minimal spin and 2.0-2.1 60' times consistantly. Here in NY I tried that the first run and I smoked my tires like I was doing a burnout. Ended up a 17 second run (DOH!). After that I went half throttle out of the gate with my best 60' being the 2.2 and many in the 2.3-2.4 range.

But on a bright note I did get 8 runs for 12 bucks. Back in Joliet it cost 35 bucks and you were lucky to get 3 runs in (many times I only got 2 as the lines were sooooo long). I ordered a pair of Nitto 555R drag radiels from Jegs and hope to get back this Friday or next for one more shot. I'm hoping with a good burnout, cold weather and some luck I can hit a 12.9 on a 1.9 short time.

Wish me luck

Two different tracks with two different preps, DA, temp...etc will have impact your your ET.

In NYIR, it is pretty obvious that you were having launching issues compare to Rt. 66 Speedway. If you could lower your 60' time tow 2.1 like Rt. 66, you should be in very close to 13.1 like you ran in the past. I guess it make take some more runs to adjust to NYIR track preps or just throw in a stall and you'll be in high 12s. Good luck. :)

Your times honestly aren't that bad. It sounds like track prep was the main culprit IMO.

Rt. 66 has awesome track prep. Three guys were pushing my friends Formula when his rear end blew up on him at the starting line, and they were having a hard time picking up their feet. Thats how sticky it was.
