questin about VE table
in my ve table, 2000 and 2400 rpm columns are about the same. if you look at the graph, it looks like the graph is offset. i am just wondering why this would be? could it be just getting in the power band of the cam does some funky stuff or what?? ive been wondering about that for a while, i can try to get a graph off the lap top if you wanna see it

On my VE tables, I have a slight dip from 2000-2400 rpm, then it starts climbing again. Is this what your VE table does too? Since we have similar cams, it wouldn't surprise me.

With the G5X3 cam, alot of guys were posting dyno results that showed hp dips in the 2500~3500 rpm ranges...I did not dyno after my cam install, but I could notice the flat spot in the same rpm range with my car...Which led me to the following...
I haven't done SD tuning, but after my cam install and still using the stock VE table...I had dead spots below 4000 rpms...By this I mean the following...
I would put the car in 3rd gear at about 1200 rpms, I would go WOT and just feel how the car was accelerating...It was very sluggish and uneven below 4000 rpms, then it would pull really hard above the 4000 rpms, felt as if 2 more cylinders would kick in...I started messing with the VE table...Mainly I began to increase the values...What I eventually ended up with was a very fat VE table down low...Values in the 100~120 range at 105 kPa and 1200~7000 rpms...
But the results were the following...Doing the same acceleration test as above, the car pulls very strong down low, with a very smooth transition at the upper, above 4000 rpms, rpm range...Also, as a by product, my KR at light throttle and low rpms was reduced considerably...
Throttle response is excellent...I'm not sure the car would even run without the MAS, but it sure runs good the way it is now...
Peace...Gman

G5x4 here and I have that dip also it was also there with my Fm13. Most of the vehicles i tune have that dip if they are cammed. I think its a combination of the cam and the motor that make that dip. Ive tried smoothingit out but the WB keeps telling me its rich in those areas so i end back up with the dip in the table

Yeah i was kinda baffled at first myself because everyones cammed cars who ive seen pictures of the ve table was smooth in that area. I though it was only me until i started seeing more occurances of it. I agree the dip stays

I would like to see a pic of you guys VE table, or better yet send me the table in excel. I have a problem exactly like Gman described above when flooring it at 1000 rpm and the engine slowly coming to life. Mine feels doggish below 3500 rpm or so, and I know that should not be the case. Right now with my current tune the car wont spin the tires in first gear until about 3800 rpm!? From what most guys say that have my cam it should roast the tires easy. Drag strip experience backed this up, when launching the car it would bog every time, even at 2500 rpm.
Any help would be appreciated guys, I have had a hell of a time dialing in the VE table below 2000 rpm.

thanks Humpin. A couple questions: is your car cam-only with all the bolt ons? Also, can you put those VE values in excel and shoot me an email? I can't quite view the graph with HPtuners in the same view you posted here.

FM13 table is long gone. Do you have a WB or are you trying to tune with your trims. If its the latter this is why you may be having such a hard time with low throttle driving. After using a WB for more than year and some change I will not be going back to narrow band tuning anytime soon the stock o2 just dont do it for me.

I think I need a little more idle tuning, and definitely some more 1000-2000 rpm work. I am also trying to cure my low rpm, low load bucking.

Just for shi_s and giggles...Go to the following link and see the photos I took of my stock VE table and my current modded VE table...

It may appear fat to you guys, but as far as my L-trims are concerned...The stay between -2% and -8% at cruise and light throttle acceleration...Which, by the way, I have my throttle position set at 40% before PE is enabled...
Peace...Gman

i have no problems with the f13 tuning it anywhere besides letting off the throttle it wants to pull a lot of fuel but ill find that out with the WB this week. i have my license now so i can check **** out. i am wondering if that dip has anything to do with cam overlap? im just glad im not the only one, i was kinda worried about it. the more i tune this cam the happier i am. car gets smoother and smoother and the little problems go away. last fill up i got 16.6 mpg, and that was a lot of idling and high rpms for logging. i was quite impressed heads and cam could do taht good in the city.
