New motor, TCS wont work???

Default New motor, TCS wont work???

Ok, blew the motor up in my car, put a used motor in it, now the tcs wont work. Same old computer, its the auto, 98 car. What should i look for first for problems, plug ins, new pcm, what???

Check that the ground up by the fuse box under the hood is connected. It is used for the tcs system. I forgot it when installing a new motor in my car a while back, and when I grounded it the traction system worked again.

check to see if its plugged in on the passenger side...

Does the used motor have a decent sized cam? If it does, you need to adjust your min and max MAP sensor values by about 30% (assuming you have no vaccuum leaks in the intake). Actually I should have asked if you're throwing a P0106 code. If you are, then that is why your TCS is acting erratic.

thanks guys, i will try all this, the new motor doesnt have a aftermarket cam in it, i will try the ground wire and see if its plugged in on the passanger side.
