Default After market torque converter sounds

Is there a point in engine speed where your torque converter resonates (while unlocked)? Full out accel., it locks & is fine. Gentle accel., is good. Middle (maybe 40%) accel., & it resonates similar to an out of balance drive shaft kind of sound until higher RPM's are reached or it locks. Is this normal?

For anyone interested, John from Fuddle explained (basically) that the sound is created by soft transmission shifts against a no-slip (type) clutch material. The combination causes the front plate to rub on the housing @ a certain RPM. Anyway, I can drive around it most of the timing by rapid acceleration or gentle acceleration. The condition can be corrected w/ a transmission tune (modify the pulse width table) or by using a shift kit. Am looking into both options & will drive around the condition until then.

The 9.5" torque converters will make some noise (more or less), different stalls will make different sounds, nothing to worry about. There is more to this, but explaining this will not change the sounds you hear, again, nothing to worry about.

Night & day. Rotational mass is much less with the 9.5" which means less drive train loss caused by the converter. I couldn't belive how big & heavy the stock converter was. That thing is a pig. Then there's increased stall benefits you get from the aftermarket converter.
