Default Oil pressure issue

OK, I have a 2000 WS6 with fairly low miles, about 35,000. I had a Hotcam installed at 30,000 miles. Just recently I have noticed that when at WOT my oil pressure according to the guage in the cluster is maxed out beyond 80 psi. At idle and at part throttle it appears to be reading correctly. Most seem to think its the sensor but I just wonder why it would appear to read fine at anytime but WOT?? If it is correct is having too much oil pressure bad?? Car seems to run fine, although I have noticed a drop in my gas mileage. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks

Umm, my gauge maxes out at wot. I always thought the more oil pressure the better. Why would you expect to get better gas mileage with a larger cam? Not to mention I'm sure you get on it a lot more often with the new found power.

No......I meant my gas mileage has just recently dropped....after I noticed the oil pressure issue. It dropped a lot after the cam swap Thanks

BTW, how do you like that cam? I am swapping to the same cam in 2 weeks, I have the Hotcam right now Is that your dyno numbers with that cam? I made 377 with my current baby cam, I was sure hoping to break 400 with the TSP cam.
