Default El Camino anyone??

my stepdad is putting a small block stroker motor in his 85 El Camino SS which requires him to disconnect the computer... what does this envolve as far as running into problems??

thanks for any info or advice!!!

I believe back then, the computer had little to do
with anything besides the engine. Check whether
it controlls the trans (I doubt it) and if not, just
chuck the whole mess, put a carb & standalone HEI
on the new motor and fuggedaboudit.

The engine / ECM harness is totally able to be removed from the picture without affecting the power / lighting harnesses. It's physically not connected to them either.

Since My Elcamino Project Got flooded during Hurricane Katrina, I'm looking to sell a badass built 9" with Disc brakes for an Elcamino with a set of Edelbrock Adjustable Upper Control arms, Edelbrock Suspension braces & Edelbrock boxed Lower control arms. Check & see if your step dad needs a bullet proof 9" rearend for his Elcamino with suspension.
