Default Reverse Woes

The other day I was going to back out of my driveway but ended up in 5th. So I pulled it out and tried again. Dammit! 5th. So, one more shot...this time giving the shifter a little extra *bump*. Slid over the rest of the way and I was able to put it in gear. No grinding or anything...just really tricky to get it to move that far. Any idears?

TTT? There is no SES light regarding this...so I am assuming it's not a bad reverse lock out solenoid

I wouldnt' assume that.
If the computor is seeing the right current going to the Solenoid then it wont' throw a code.
It might still be bad.
thats the only thing in there I can see giving you that trouble.
With light side to side Movement you can feel a detent on the left , then it will center, and then you can feel a little detent to the right
pushing harder you will feel another one to the right.
With the car off can you feel the two detents to the right ?

When going to the left, yes...there is a little tension. Nothing out of the norm. Going to the right...there is the same amount of tension until I reach the reverse area. Then in feels like I am trying to push it through mud. The closer I get to the right, the more tension is built up.

My bet would be on that solenoid then.
You can try to remove it and see if that fixes your problem.
